A FMD solution will:

Enable users to access and share data on all popular device platforms, from any location in the world.

Provide the ability to securely share files/folders with users internal and external to KU, allowing an effective real-time collaborative way of working in sharing information.

Provide advanced features for uploading, editing and managing documents, allowing the individual user for greater self-management of data.

Enable users to access data natively.

Provide a secure and resilient solution for data storage and accessibility.

Provide a common and standardised means of storing, sharing and managing data, for all KU staff and students, as a result, allowing standardised KU support processes.

Enable long-term savings on support and energy costs, through;
o
Reduced power consumption and usage of printers, due to users being able to access and view their data and collaborate directly on their devices, from anywhere.
o
Reduced cost in KU data storage, as data will reside in the ‘cloud’, externally hosted by a solution provider.
