Description of the contract

Description: A contract to revise and produce materials that will support registered and experienced social workers to return to front line social work practice. The Department currently holds existing Return to Social Work (RTSW) materials that were devised for delivery of a classroom based course. The materials cover various aspects of social work policy and legislation and provide a good basis for RTSW support however they do need to be updated to bring them in line with new social work policy and guidance. The objective of the contract is to produce Return to Social Work material that can be used by employers to develop their own activities, as well as by individuals who are thinking about returning to practice. By making use of the existing materials the expected output is a simple series of documents that cover core learning areas, are appropriate to be hosted online and can be used by both employers and individuals. Contractor Specification Requirements: The successful bidder / bidding team will be required to: • Update and supplement / amend the current materials to ensure that they are up to date with accurate current policy and practice guidance. • Produce an associated slide pack. • Produce guidance on providing shadowing opportunities for individuals intending to or engaged in returning to the profession. • Produce materials in format(s) that will allow them to be hosted online and used by a variety of different audiences, including employers, trainers and individuals. Contractor Specification Requirements: The successful bidder / bidding team must meet the following requirements: • Have an excellent understanding of social work with children and families and the current context in which social workers are operating • Have an excellent understanding of recent developments in the children and families social work workforce and recent policy changes affecting the children and families social work workforce • Have an excellent knowledge of current social work policy and legislation • Have experience of producing and delivering training materials, including experience in the production of modular training programmes • Have experience of producing material that can be used by a variety of audiences • Have experience of producing material in different formats and styles • Have experience of producing complex information in succinct and easily understandable formats
