We seek quotations to supply and install a KEE_GUARD free standing roof edge protection system please see the attached PDF plan at Rutland House, Second Av, Halton Lea, Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 2ES. (Please note – to gain access to full documentation you must register your interest using the button below)
Supply and install approximately 170 linear metres of free standing counter weight roof edge protection system to a flat roof surface, with high visibility, non –slip secure bases that do not penetrate the roofing membrane. Ensure that all the fixtures and fittings are galvanised to ensure the products longevity.
The product should meet working at heights legislation and be fully compliant with all statutory requirements, please see the below  full specification;
PART l – GENERAL
Summary: Provide and install freestanding KeeGuard® Roof Edge Fall Protection System, including tube railings, bases, counterweights, fittings and delivery to site.
Reference: EN14122 Part 3 & EN13374 Class A, all applicable, local and national codes.
Finish:
1.                Tube for handrails, mid-rails, uprights and counterweight connection is to be galvanised mill finished to the requirements of EN ISO 1461.
2.                Kee Klamp® Components shall be galvanised to meet EN ISO 1461.
 
Design Requirements:
1.                Railing shall consist of top rails, mid rails, uprights, counterweights and connections.
2.                All tube connections to be Kee Klamp® structural tube components manufactured to the requirements of EN1562/1563.
3.                Railing assembly shall be capable of withstanding a load of 300 N/m applied at any point on the top rail. Test in accordance with EN 14122 part 3.
 
Submittals:
1.                Shop drawing; Indicate profiles, sizes, connections, size and type of fastners and accessories.
Filed Measurements:
1.                Verify field measurements prior to assembly and/or ordering.
 
 
PART ll PRODUCTS

Components:
1.                Tube: EN39 & EN10255.
2.                Rails and Posts: 48.3 OD steel tube, galvanised.
3.                Kee Klamp components: Elbows, Crossovers, Wall flanges, Tees, Couplings, galvanised.
4.                Mounting Bases: Iron bases are galvanised and are supplied with a rubber pad on underside of the component.
5.                Counterweights: Moulded recycled PVC.
6.                Fasteners: All fasteners shall be stainless steel.
 
PART lll EXECUTION
Installation:
1.                For all connections with Kee Klamp® Components, each set screw is to be tightened to 39 N/m of torque.
2.                Placement of uprights and counterweights to manufacturer specifications as stated in the KeeGuard® Installation Instructions.
3.                Terminate the run as stated in the KeeGuard® Installation Instructions.
 
Schedules:
1.                Freestanding counterweighted guardrail system with 1.1m nominal height to provide a barrier on the roof which withstands a load of 300 N/m applied to the top rail per EN 14122 Part 3.
Acceptable low slope, roof edge fall protection to be KeeGuard® manufactured by Kee Safety Ltd.
Please be aware that the lift cannot be used for the works and either the stairwell which would be the preferred route that can take you all four storey’s to the roof area or a crane would be needed to get the materials to the work area, please keep in mind that the final steps are quite step and restricted. There is limited car parking but a loading bay is in place and should a storage container facility be needed a suitable location can be found.
In order to register for the works your company must be construction line accredited. Prices should be subject to VAT at the standard rate.
The Contractor will be required to provide all necessary risk assessments, method statements, specifications and drawings.
Duration of works:  (System to be fully installed and invoiced by the 31st March 2012).
This Request for Quote opportunity is being conducted via the Council’s e-procurement facility, The Chest. Responses must be electronically submitted via this facility.
All quotations / proposals / document submissions should be completed in a format that is compatible with Microsoft Office 2003, and each organisation shall have the capacity to send and receive emails. PDF documents are also acceptable.
All proposals must be completed and returned electronically through The Chest (www.thechest.nwce.gov.uk) no later than 11:00am on Wednesday 29th February 2012.
Bids submitted after this time, will not be considered
Bidders should note particularly the following advice:
You must ensure that you submit all your quote / documentation on time. You need to bear in mind that fluctuation in the speed and capacity of connection to The Chest system, or the uploading of larger documents to the system can mean the process takes longer than you may anticipate. Any Tenders not submitted or not submitted complete by the stated deadline will be discarded. It is your responsibility to meet the Request for Quote deadline.
All queries and questions must be submitted via the Question and Answer facility on The Chest. Please refer to previously asked questions before asking a question, as duplicate questions will not be answered. All questions and answers will be made public to all bidders via The Chest.
