Description of the contract

Breckland Council is seeking a contractor to assist and work closely in partnership with the Grants4Growth Project team (www.grants4growth.org.uk) in the delivery of the project and its primary outcome. The Programme Manager has identified the need to augment the existing team with additional capability to assist with promoting to and the identification of suitable SMEs primarily in the three district councils of Bedfordshire for capital grants. This would also entail the carrying out the initial pre-application checks, referral to the Project team for financial checks then a full Business Broker service to facilitate and support the SME to submit a viable application. 1.5.3 The focus, therefore, would be to identify suitable SME businesses located in the three local authorities of Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Luton all within the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area. This will require the successful contractor to be based in Bedfordshire and to develop and instigate their own flexible marketing and networking activities that take account of the short time scales, and geographical location in order to engage at least 70 SMEs to the point of successful capital grant application by 31 December 2014.
