Green Deal Supply Chain Roadshow –
29th January 2013 – Hailsham Civic Centre – Last Chance to book closing date 25/01/2013

Wealden District Council, in conjunction with other East Sussex Councils, is hosting a seminar for the East Sussex supply chain to find out more about the opportunities offered to you by the Green Deal.
The Energy Act 2011 includes provisions for the new ‘Green Deal’, which intends to reduce carbon emissions cost effectively by improving the energy efficiency of British properties.
The Green Deal will enable private sector or other organisations to offer consumers energy efficiency improvements to their homes and businesses with some or all of the cost paid for over time from the savings they can expect to make on their energy bills.
These energy efficiency measures will be provided by businesses people can trust, installed by authorised professionals, and backed up with a legal framework to protect the consumer.
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) will also be introduced to bring supplier subsidy and Green Deal finance together to help the consumer. ECO will replace existing energy company obligations like Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) and Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP).
More information Imabout the Green Deal is available on the Green Deal pages of DECC’s website.
The Green Deal will change the way energy efficiency improvements are funded in this country, provide a much needed boost for the sector and provides a huge opportunity for the supply chain.
This seminar will be run so you can:
    • Understand what the Green Deal means for your business
    • Hear how other companies are seizing Green Deal opportunities
    • Discuss your ideas for the Green Deal with other local companies like yours.
This event is subject to a small charge. All companies interested in supplying into the Green Deal are encouraged to attend,– from manufacturers and installers, to energy advisors and consultants. Your business must be located in East Sussex and spaces will be limited to two tickets per organisation. We are particularly interested in attracting smaller companies.
If you are interested and wish to make a booking please express an interest as a supplier on this page and we will email full details when they are confirmed early in the new year. If you need any further information please contact abdul.hussain@wealden.gov.uk
