The Health and Social Care Act 2012 places a statutory duty on Local Authorities to commission a Local Healthwatch service with effect from 1.4.2013
Healthwatch St.Helens will be an independent organisation, able to employ its own staff and involve volunteers, so that it can become an influential and effective voice of the public in relation to health and social care. Healthwatch St Helens will have to keep accounts and make its annual reports available to the public.
The Healthwatch St Helens contract is for a duration of 2 years (1.4.2013 – 31.3.2015), with an option to extend for a further 12 months. The duration of the contract will be dependent on funding received by the Local Authority in the future in addition to performance monitoring and outcomes achieved.

(a) is bankrupt or is being wound up, where his affairs are being administered by the court, where he has entered into an arrangement with creditors, where he has suspended business activities or is in any analogous situation arising from a similar procedure under national laws and regulations;
(b) is the subject of proceedings for a declaration of bankruptcy, for an order compulsory winding up the administration by the court or of an arrangement with creditors or of any other similar proceedings under national laws and regulations;
(c) has been convicted by a judgment which has the force of res judicata in accordance with the legal provisions of the country of any offence concerning his professional conduct;
