Gloucestershire County Council is seeking provision of 6 emergency access assessment places in the urban centre of Cheltenham. These units will operate as first stage resettlement projects for homeless people, replacing current night-shelter provision and operate the wider homelessness network.
These services will need to:
— Work with some of the most challenging individuals in the community to ensure a safe and stable environment for emergency access accommodation and positively challenge substance misuse and other anti-social behaviour,
— Provide structured interventions to enable a resident to positively move on within an average three month period,
— Work alongside and deliver where appropriate assertive outreach services in the community to make contact with homeless people sleeping rough and help them access basic services,
— Support rough sleepers to identify and secure accommodation,
— Work with accommodation and floating support providers in the early stages of move on to ensure the accommodation is maintained.
