Description of the contract

Leicester City Council is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the supply of a Hosted Electronic System for Administration of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checks. The Council is seeking to adopt the eBulk Service offered by the DBS. The Council is seeking to engage an approved eBulk e-Broker to facilitate this service and provide the interface between the Council and the DBS. Maintenance of the system is also required as part of this purchase. On average, LCC currently processes approximately 7,700 DBS checks per year using a paper-based process. However this number may reduce over time. The contract is for 3 years with an option to extend for a further +1 year. The value of the contract is approximately £97,000 and this includes the option to extend, if taken up. The anticipated commencement of the contract is 1 March 2013.
