Oxford City Council is seeking a maximum of 7 organisations to provide a range of ICT infrastructure services as set out below from April 2016 Organisations can tender for a single lot or any combination of lots.
The Council currently has all its ICT infrastructure provided by Oxfordshire County Council under a partnership agreement which will come to an end on 31.3.2016. The successful organisation(s) will therefore be required to be able to manage the transition of the service(s) they are awarded working with both the City and County Council during 2015/16.
A brief description of the seven lots that bidders are invited to apply for are as follows:
1. Data Centre Hosting — Provision of data centre capacity, racks and connectivity.
Must include dual site resilience and resilient network connections
2. Server and Storage Capacity — CPU, RAM and storage for virtual and physical machines.
Includes Hypervisor and backup/recovery tools and capacity
3. Server technical support — Server OS Patching, Event monitoring, Performance Management, Capacity Management, Resources for Technical Projects.
4. Database Administration — Database Patching, Database Maintenance/Housekeeping, Event monitoring, Performance Management, Capacity Management, Resources for Technical Projects
5. Network Security Infrastructure and support — Design, Installation and maintenance of agreed security infrastructure and tools; Security Patching, Event monitoring, Performance Management, Capacity Management, Resources for Technical Projects.
6. IT Service Management tools — IT Service Desk; Asset Management; ITIL Processes (incident, problem, change, service request); IT Service Catalogue.
7. IT Service Desk Operations — Operational support of service desk and asset management using ITSM platform.
This contract is being provisioned based on the requirements of Oxford City Council. Partner Councils including
— Oxfordshire County Council,
— West Oxfordshire District Council,
— Cotswold District Council,
— Cheltenham Borough Council,
— Forest of Dean District Council
may seek to enter into a contract with the supplier(s) to provide the services as set out within the lots over the life of the contract. Each Council listed will be required to enter into a separate contract with each supplier.
