II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

Ormiston Academies Trust currently oversees 33 Academies across the country. The specification for the Framework of ICT Services is designed to meet the needs of all OAT Academies and OAT Trust offices, should they choose to call off any of the framework of services offered under this contract.

At the point of tender, a number of OAT Academies are in need of ICT Services as their existing services are unaffordable, are no longer meeting their needs, or are nearing end of term. We will therefore use the needs of this group of OAT Academies (the ‘Initial Recipients’) to form the initial instruction against the framework.

The Initial Recipients are made up of 3 secondary Academies seeking a full managed service. Exemplar Recipients are made up of 1 primary Academy seeking managed services. Each Academy is at a different stage of development with regards to their use of ICT. These Academies have also demonstrated differing levels of investment made in their solutions which strongly impacts the quality of their current service. Some Academies are coming out of a well-funded BSF programme where others have been underfunded for some time. This range of school types is typical of OAT, and the managed service provider should take note of the breadth of solution quality across the Trust. A full description of the services required as part of this framework can be found within the Specification document contained within the tender document set.
