The primary objective of the Contract is to provide services that support Intermediate Care Services across County Durham. The Council requires a number of block purchase beds that are spread across the County.
The block purchases of the beds will be at a stated rate which is dependent on the type of service (bed functionality).

The duration of the Contract is 1 year, subject to the right of the Authority (at its sole discretion) to exercise its right to extend the Contract by up to 12 months. The maximum length of the Contract is therefore 2 years.
The Council’s requirements are based on 5 areas of service provision (Zones) that are defined by the former District Council boundaries. These ‘Zones’ are the geographical Lot areas which are available in this tender process.

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: The contracting Authority will incorporate a standstill periods at the point information of the award of the Contract is communicated to bidders. That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill periods which will be for minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for the unsuccessful bidders to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into. The Public Contracts Regulation 2015 provide the aggrieved parties who have been harmed or at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
