This notice and subsequent tender will be separated into lots as shown below.
Lot 1:
Supply of c 300 open box wagons with a payload of between 55t to 62t.
Lot 2:
Supply of c 100 open box wagons with a payload of between 75t to 78t.
The lease is required to start before December 2015.
Network Rail may consider variants to these proposals, however the essential requirement for the wagons to be registered to operate on the UK network is not negotiable.
Variants will be considered in relation to the following; payload, lease duration.
Estimated value excluding VAT
Range: between 14 000 000 and 40 000 000 GBP

Description of these options: 1. The tender documentation will specify certain requirements as mandatory, these elements must be complied with and variants against mandatory elements will not be accepted.
Variants will be considered against the non mandatory elements of the specification. All options and variants will be assessed against the published evaluation criteria.
2. The lease is for a period of 5 years, however Network Rail will consider options of up to 10 years if this is beneficial to Network Rail.
