Description of the contract

The Children Act (Leaving Care) 2000 imposes a responsibility on local authorities to provide suitable accommodation with / or support for young people leaving care. Under this Act, there is a requirement for the local authority to develop a range of safe, appropriate and affordable accommodation with / or support for young people leaving care.

In light of this, Gwynedd Council is looking to develop a specialist and holistic model of accommodation and / or support service which can be delivered through partnership with the young person, families, professionals and other statutory, community and independent agencies, on the basis of a framework.

The framework will run for a period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further 1 year

It is envisaged that a maximum of 12 providers will become part of the framework
