Tender for the Provision of the Inspection, Servicing, Maintenance and Repair of Straight and Curved Stair-lifts, Vertical Through Floor Lifts, Step Lifts And Overhead Track Hoists Installed in Domestic Properties in Tameside and Oldham.
Tameside MBC (Adult Services), are inviting expressions of interest in the above tender, this is an open tender previously advertised in OJEU since 27.8.2014.
This tender is for the provision of an annual schedule of service and inspection of all straight and curved stair lifts, vertical lifts, step lifts (internal and external) and overhead track hoists (hereafter known as the appliances), installed in domestic properties in Tameside and Oldham that no longer fall within a manufacturer’s warranty. This includes provision of minor repairs where necessary, arising out of annual service and inspection. The cost of minor repairs will be up to and including 350 GBP. Repairs arising from scheduled inspection and service costing more than 350 GBP are to be included as part of the emergency call out service.
In addition, the Contractor shall provide a full call-out facility covering 24 hours each day and 365 days a year, (including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day).
An emergency call-out shall mean a call-out at any time, on any day, where a customer is stuck on an appliance or when not stuck on an appliance, where a customer is alone and cannot access toilet facilities, food or drinking water.
The Contractor will be required to maintain a 24 hour telephone service which will provide help and advice at all times. This number shall remain constant throughout the term of the Contract and no message recording systems are to be used.
The joint annual expenditure for this service is likely to be in the region of 170 000 GBP. This estimate value is based upon present numbers of appliances and expenditure and is given only as a guide.
The contract will run for a period of 2 years from the commencement date. The Council may, subject to approval and re-negotiation, wish to extend the Contract for a further period of up to 1 year.
The award of the contract will be in keeping with a Best Value approach, which will jointly evaluate quality factors and price.
The Procurement process has given due regard to the Social Value Act 2012 in consideration of the economic, social and environmental benefits of the delivery of this service.
