Local Healthwatch Services Provider Briefing
We would like to invite potential providers to a briefing that provides the opportunity for the local authorities to share information about the priorities for Healthwatch in their locality.
- Stockton Borough Council
- Provider Briefing regarding the commissioning of individual Local Healthwatch Services across Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees
- This event is only for potential providers of the local Healthwatch services.
The Health & Social Care Act requires local areas to strengthen the way in which the views of patients, users of health and social care services and the public influence the development and delivery of local services. One of the main ways of achieving this will be through the creation of a new organisation – Local Healthwatch – across each local authority area.
Local HealthWatch will be representative of the diverse communities served by health and social care services. It will provide intelligence, including evidence from citizen’s views and experiences, to influence the policy, planning, commissioning and delivery of publicly-funded health and social care services. It will hold health and social care services to account for the services they deliver. It will also provide information and advice to help people access and make choices about services.
Each local authority will be commissioning their own local Healthwatch service. Specifications and timescales for procurement will vary but there are many common issues.
We would like to invite potential providers to a briefing that provides the opportunity for the local authorities to share information about the priorities for Healthwatch in their locality. The briefing will be held on:

Registration commences at 12.30pm to enable a prompt start at 1.00pm

- Share the vision for local Healthwatch across each local authority area
