Local Healthwatch Services Provider Briefing

Local Healthwatch Services Provider Briefing

We would like to invite potential providers to a briefing that provides the opportunity for the local authorities to share information about the priorities for Healthwatch in their locality.

Stockton Borough Council
Provider Briefing regarding the commissioning of individual Local Healthwatch Services across Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees
None
This event is only for potential providers of the local Healthwatch services.
The Health & Social Care Act requires local areas to strengthen the way in which the views of patients, users of health and social care services and the public influence the development and delivery of local services.  One of the main ways of achieving this will be through the creation of a new organisation – Local Healthwatch – across each local authority area.
Local HealthWatch will be representative of the diverse communities served by health and social care services.  It will provide intelligence, including evidence from citizen’s views and experiences, to influence the policy, planning, commissioning and delivery of publicly-funded health and social care services. It will hold health and social care services to account for the services they deliver. It will also provide information and advice to help people access and make choices about services.
Each local authority will be commissioning their own local Healthwatch service.  Specifications and timescales for procurement will vary but there are many common issues.
We would like to invite potential providers to a briefing that provides the opportunity for the local authorities to share information about the priorities for Healthwatch in their locality. The briefing will be held on:
Friday 14th September 2012
Registration commences at 12.30pm to enable a prompt start at 1.00pm
Wynyard Rooms, Wynyard Avenue, Wynyard, Billingham, TS22 5TB
The objectives for the afternoon will be to:
    • Set the context for local Healthwatch
    • Share the vision for local Healthwatch across each local authority area
    • Identify common issues and provide clarity where possible to providers
    • Provide details of the procurement process

Due to venue capacity attendance will be limited to a maximum of two representatives from each provider organisation and places will be filled on a first come first served basis. A Request for Information form will need to downloaded, completed and returned via the system in order to attend this event.
A summary of the discussions, in the form of answers to the specific questions raised at the event will be posted, following the event.
