Typing, word-processing and desktop publishing services. Typing services. Sound recordings. Logging and Transcription Services — The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requires a logging and transcription service for the Fitness to Practise (FtP) and Registration Appeal hearings, that hear evidence relating to allegations about individual registrants fitness to practise. Each of these panels or meetings may require a verbatim transcript to be produced for future use relating to the case, and in any challenges to decisions made. The duration of the contract will be 36 months form the award of contract with the option to extend by a further 24 months in 12 month increments, subject ot excellent performance and the NMC’s approval. Suppliers wanting to express an interest in participating in the tender process must hold ISO9001 accreditation or be working towards accreditation. The NMC is intening though this procurement to enter into contracts with up to three providers which shall together constitute its internal framework for the provision of trancription services. The NMC will not commit to any minimum spend with each provider.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

NMC currently runs up to 32 hearing or meeting events per day and NMC must be able to produce transcripts for each request if required within a specified timeline. Transcripts to be verbatim records of all discussions in public or private session, but not including the private decision making discussions which are in camera. Hearings/Meetings typically run from 9:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, although there may be occasional panels/meetings held on weekends. Given the often confidential nature of fitness to practise work, it is essential that contractors are fully compliant with data protection guidance and all information and recording devices are securely stored. Contractors to supply own reliable recording devices where necessary and to ensure back up system available in the event of primary failure. The location of the work is predominantly London, but also Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff. Occasionally other UK cities within the four nations of the UK.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: The Authority will apply all the offences listed in Article 45(1) of Directive 2004/18/EC (implemented as Regulation 23(1) of the Public Contract Regulations (PCR) 2006 in the UK) and all of the professional misconducts listed at Article 45(2) of Directive 2004/18/EC (see also Regulation 23(2) in the PCR 2006) to the decision of whether a Candidate is eligible to be invited to tender.
