The RODs survey asks passengers about the trip they are making, including the time and location of their journey, different modes of transport involved, purpose of the journey and the ticket used. The results of the survey then help Transport for London find out more about passengers and their journeys. The information is instrumental in helping TfL to plan for the future, including scheduling train services, station modernisations and upgrades, plus work at transport interchanges.

A sample of stations will be selected and a questionnaire distributed at entry A sample of stations will be selected and the questionnaire distributed at entry points at these stations. During 2012, 11 stations were selected and c100 000 questionnaires were distributed across specified days and times. In 2012 there was a lower handout and response rate
(14%) than previous years. LU are looking for ways to increase / prevent falling handout and response rates.

No special legal form is required but in the event of the suppliers submitting an acceptable offer it will be necessary to provide an undertaking that each company will be jointly and severally responsible for due performance of the contract.
