Description of the contract

• Work with the commissioners and theatre production provider to develop a marketing campaign to run alongside the production and support the delivery of key messages. The provider should present at least three branding concepts eg logos, design etc for consideration by commissioners. • The campaign should communicate key messages to the target group and should be linked with the theatre production. The target group are defined as ‘adults aged 35 – 55 who drink at increasing risk levels but who do not acknowledge that their drinking puts their future health at risk’. (key messages will be agreed with the commissioner) • Using market segmentation tools identify the most effective delivery methods, tools and messages for reaching the target group. Eg Alcohol profiles produced by the Alcohol Learning Centre www.alcohollearningcentre.org.uk. Ensure that the marketing methods are directly tailored to specific audience segments. • The marketing plan will propose the use of an appropriate mix of methods, avoiding the reliance on any single method or approach used in isolation. The provider will consider the methods and approaches already developed, taking full account of the theatre project in order to achieve synergy and enhance the overall impact. • The provider will be required to develop a campaign brand which includes the West Sussex Wellbeing logo and complements the Wellbeing brand. See the attached website for reference. http://www.westsussexwellbeing.org.uk • The campaign should aim to inspire the target group to watch the series of films and look out for the live performances in their area. • The target group should be encouraged to access a specific website (commissioner will provide a link) where they can access information about sensible drinking either directly or by using a QR code and use a self assessment tool to calculate their level of risk. NB: The provider will not be expected to create a new website but will make use of one which is already established. • The provider should advise and support with setting up an online forum / blog or similar tool for people to make a pledge to reduce or give up drinking. • The marketing materials should contain images and information relating to the performances and should communicate the same messages. • The campaign should be flexible for use across a range of health promotion campaigns throughout the year eg, Alcohol Awareness week, Men’s Health week and seasonal safe drinking campaigns. The materials will need to be made available to partners running these campaigns eg Community Safety Partnerships. • The provider will be required to develop a communications and PR plan in collaboration with the commissioner. The provider will maintain, coordinate and implement this plan. • Working with the commissioners the provider should identify advertising locations across West Sussex that may be viewed by the target group and should be in line with the time scale of the live theatre performances. This can be based on the information available about the target group through the segmentation tools. Subject to Chichester District Council obtaining funding in 2013 the successful contractor will be required to carry out the 2nd stage, delivery. The successful contactor will be notified whether funding is available as soon as possible and Chichester District Council will not be held responsible for any costs incurred for preparation of this stage until the contractor has been officially notified funding is secured.
