Concept designs have been done to RIBA D / Stage 3 level and the appointed contractor will have to review and build on these designs.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:

The Museum refurbishment including the requirements of this contract will be completed between September 2015 and August 2016 but the aim is to have the newly refurbished museum ‘open for visitors’ during the early part of summer 2016. There is an option to extend the contract for a further 6 months to allow for any additional requirements post re-opening. The maximum allowable budget is £840,000 but the Council is keen to deliver the contract to a high standard without necessarily utilising all of the budget.

The Council will be using its existing ‘building’ contract for any structural works required as a consequence of the refurbishment and therefore the successful bidder must be able to work effectively and seamlessly with the company undertaking the building refurbishment to ensure that the contract is delivered on time.
There will be opportunities for potential bidders to visit the museum in advance of the tender return date. Details of how to arrange a visit are included within the ITT
This Notice is advertised as a Supplies contract but prospective bidders should be aware that there will be a requirement for some services as part of the specification, in particular in relation to the commissioning of the interactive and multi sensory elquipment
