Description

The EBP is a non-profit Company contracted to oversee and manage the National Citizen Service (NCS) Programme across EM1

NCS is delivered by a network of local organisations (LSPs) who run the programme across the EM1 Lincolnshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire. There is significant growth planned over the next three years, with up to 5,957 participating young people for summer 2018 alone.

We are looking for Delivery Partners to run the Programme from Autumn 2015.

NCS is a once–in-a-lifetime opportunity open to all 16 and 17 year olds across England. It is a unique programme focused around fun and discovery. After an initial two or three weeks of full-time challenges and activities, participants spend between 30 and 60 hours committed to a social action project that benefits both young people and the communities they live in.
After completing this project, participants become members of the NCS movement and are given ongoing opportunities, support and rewards for making social action a habit for life. On this government backed programme, participants build skills for work and life, while taking on new challenges and adventures, making new friends, learning new skills and contributing to their community.
NCS is designed to build confidence and prepare young people for their journey into adulthood. NCS intends to promote:
• A more cohesive society by mixing participants from very different backgrounds
• A more responsible society by supporting the transition into adulthood and the development of essential skills for employment (teamwork, leadership, communication)
• A more engaged society by enabling young people to work together to create social action projects in their local communities.
The programme currently has 3 main delivery seasons; autumn, spring and during the school summer holidays.
