Description of the goods or services required

The National Museums Scotland (NMS) wish to appoint a main contractor to carry out shop-fitting works at the National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh.

The works are specifically front of house and located within the museum’s main shop in the Arrivals Hall, next to the new main entrance on Chambers Street. The works will predominantly be pre-fabricated off-site and it is essential that the installation is carried out in the most time efficient manner to ensure the closure of the shop is kept to a minimum. As a result some works may need to be undertaken outwith museum opening times and programmed around events.

The main contractor will be required to carry out all works detailed within the Tender Specifications and Drawings.
