Launched and run by a member of the team there with help from a temporary member of staff drafted in to support due to the success to date they have succeeded in not only generating revenue but also in gathering reputational momentum that is invaluable to Network Rail and the railway. As a result Network Rail Property/Retail would like to launch a wider scale programme of station tours across more of the managed station portfolio due to this unprecedented success. The proposal to expand the tours has the full backing of the executive board. It is intended that the tours on the stations out with Glasgow Central will be run by an external outsourced company that is a specialist in project start-up, hospitality, experiential activities and safety. Potential Bidders should note this is a concession agreement and is advertised in OJEU purely to encourage expressions of interest. Utilities Regulations Rules will not be adhered to.

As the managed station portfolio varies greatly in terms of station size and appeal a high level scoping exercise has been undertaken to assess the suitability of stations for inclusion in the programme. This has involved meeting with members of each station management team on site to discover unique features and highlight potential. From this a short list of stations has been finalised which represent about half of the managed stations (circa 9) in total. These are to be launched in phases within the programme. The overall scope includes significant historic features, places of unique interest, stunning rooftop walks and in some cases offering a greater understanding of the operational challenges faced at stations. Network Rail reserves the right to award separate contracts for each station and therefore there are circa 9 lots. Network Rail reserves the right to award additional lots/stations if required. Potential Bidders should note this is a concession agreement and is advertised in OJEU purely to encourage expressions of interest. Utilities Regulations Rules will not be adhered to.
