The Diocese wish to appoint a main contractor to under take the work involved in providing new 3-storey school accommodation and associated external works. These works will be undertaken via the JCT Form of Contract, JCT Standard Building Contract with Quantities 2011 Edition (SBC/Q)
The scope of works is as follows: construction of a new 3-storey school building circa 2 460 m² ground floor, 2 718 m² first floor and 1 555 m² second floor. External works, hard and soft landscaping and new fencing. Works to involve all necessary builders, mechanical, electrical, structural and civils works to achieve full and complete operation of the site. The works are to include some contractors design items.

Employers/sub contractor design warranties will be required for all sub contracted contractor design work. Advanced payment bond will be required for payment of any materials off site. A contract guarantee bond will also be required.

Payment will be monthly based on value of work completed, assessed by employers quantity surveyor and in accordance with the provisions set out in the joint contracts tribunal standard form of Building Contract with Quantities 2011 Edition.

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: The contracting authority will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day stand still period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. Applicants have 2 working days from the notification of the award decision to request additional debriefing, and that information has to be provided a minimum of 3 working days before the expiry of the stand still period. If an appeal regarding an award of a contract has not been successfully resolved, the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 NO 5) provide for EN Standard form 02 — Contract notice 12 / 16 aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breech of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland). Any such action must be brought promptly (generally within 3 months).
