NHS Blood and Transplant wishes to work in partnership with a suitably qualified and experienced Service Provider(s) to deliver a Garment Rental and Laundering Service across its National Estate. The quality of the Garment Rental and Laundering Service is an essential part of NHSBT licensing requirements and significant in terms of the effective running of critical life saving services within each Blood Centre. Compliance with GMP standards and procedures, and the ability to demonstrate compliance, is a statutory obligation for NHSBT. Failure to meet the required standards can put patients’ lives at risk and can lead to the closure of Blood Centres. The Service Provider, by providing clear documentation on service delivery, service specification and personnel policies shall, from the information contained in this Specification and site visits, demonstrate how he shall achieve quality, value for money and attain, maintain and improve the service requirements. The Service Provider shall not be limited in his ability to be innovative and to deliver a quality service with demonstrated value for money benefits.
