Description

Nottingham City Council is seeking to commission a service that will deliver a community-based “Physical Activity on Referral Service”, to increase the physical activity levels of adults in Nottingham City to support the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The service will provide appropriately tailored, individual and group exercise programmes, and evidence-based motivational support for individuals referred through the local “Lifestyle Referral Hub” and through the self-referral process. The service will offer a varied menu of free exercise classes, gym usage and other physical activity opportunities in order to ensure that the service is accessible to and meets the needs of service users, in particular those from the city’s most deprived groups and areas. Activities provided by the service will take place at a variety of accessible community venues appropriate to the needs and preferences of priority groups.
