The instrument is intended to act as a first rate recital instrument capable of lending dignity to university occasions, particularly graduation ceremonies; solo organ recitals will also feature in the University’s regular programme of public concerts. Additionally, the new pipe organ will be used in combination (with orchestra and/or choir) and for tuition.

Newcastle University is tendering for the design, build, supply, delivery and installation of a Pipe Organ to stand within Kings Hall, the University’s principal performance and ceremonial space. The instrument is intended to act as a first rate recital instrument capable of lending dignity to university occasions, particularly graduation ceremonies; solo organ recitals will also feature in the University’s regular programme of public concerts. Additionally, the new pipe organ will be used in combination (with orchestra and/or choir) and for tuition.
The scope of this contract is for the design, build, delivery and installation of a pipe organ (as detailed in Section 3.1) Technical Specification of the Invitation to Tender document) to the University, with after sales support, warranty and maintenance and all training necessary for safe and reliable operation of the Pipe Organ. This should include sufficient familiarisation on-site to enable routine use of the Pipe Organ to start immediately on completion of installation and a complete set of operating and maintenance documents.
Estimated value excluding VAT: 750 000 GBP
