Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust are looking to commission a service that provides high quality primary care services that are equivalent to that available to patients in the community, within the constraints of custody. Prison healthcare is delivered to serving prisoners, both convicted and on remand, including considerations of discharge, through-care and health related resettlement needs. Healthcare is an integral part of the Prison Service and as such, the Provider is required to work in an integrated, co-operative and coordinated way with the prison service in the delivery of health services. The service provided will need to be responsive to the changing needs of the population.

The Tender process will be conducted as a bespoke, two-stage application process akin to the Restricted Procedure. The Services to which this Procurement relates fall within Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (the ‘Regulations’). As such, the procurement of the Services is being run as a bespoke, two-stage application process akin to the Restricted Procedure. MMHSCT does not intend to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations, save those applicable to Schedule 3 services. This is also being advertised on Contracts Finder.
