II.2)Quantity or scope of the contract
II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:
Network Rail has a requirement for the provision of ten (10) road rail Vactor/Drainage clearance vehicles.
These vehicles to be used primarily for inspection, clearing and maintenance of various track side drainage systems and associated fixed equipment.
The system should be designed around a demountable body utilising the standard ISO 20 footprint. The vehicle shall be capable of travelling and operating on Network Rail Infrastructure with Adjacent lines open, Under Live OLE, isolated 3rd and 4th rail systems.
The vehicles shall be compliant with the Construction and use Regulations for Road Vehicles and be able to operate on UK road infrastructure without restriction and be supplied with all the necessary approvals to allow the vehicles to be operated within possessions on Network Rail managed infrastructure. The base vehicle chassis shall be optimised for payload and physical dimensions to allow best utilisation on both public highway and network Rail managed infrastructure and be based on UK compliant commercial vehicle chassis of sufficient size to accommodate the equipment and facilities in the specification the vehicle is envisaged to be circa 26 tonne Gross Vehicle Mass with a suitable cab offering a minimum of three seats (including drivers seat).
The suction requirements should be capable of lifting ballast, debris, sand and silt and water from a minimum height of 7 metres below rail and a distance of 20 metres.
And a storage tank of circa 1000 gallons. The vehicle shall be capable of travelling on track and highway laden (clean water travelling to site, grey water/spoil on return).
The vehicle shall be capable to tow or propel approved air brake trailers up to a max trailing load of 30 tonnes.
The module shall be capable of working in both road and rail modes and be demountable from the main vehicle chassis designed around a 20 foot ISO twist lock container footprint as ISO 1161 1984. The module shall be self contained to allow utilisation on other platforms/equipment with suitable capacity and twist locks and be.
Fitted with lifting points to allow the unit to be lifted onto other suitable platforms/equipment. When in use the module shall have minimal dependencies on the base vehicle.
The vehicle and all associated equipment and components shall comply with Railway Group and Network Rail standards, the engineering specification and International, European and British standards or its equivalent in your country of operation.
