The British Council and Department for International Development (DfID) will co-fund the connecting classrooms through Global Learning programme from 2018 to 2021 to provide opportunities for pupils in the UK and in the developing world to learn about and take action on global issues and to develop their key transferable skills. The British Council invites potential suppliers to submit proposals to:

— Lot 1: to write and deliver professional development training packages in development education global learning for teachers in each of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales;

— Lot 2: to customise and deliver existing British Council development education global learning training packages for teachers in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales;

— Lot 3: assess connecting classrooms through Global Learning online courses for teachers based in the UK and overseas.

The British Council will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to challenge the award decision before the contract is entered into. Bidders will be required to register on British Council’s e-Tendering portal In-Tend hosted at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/britishcouncil in order to take part in the tender process. Once registered, bidders must log-in to the website where they can view the project and access the bidders pack and submit their return. Bidders will also be required to demonstrate their capability and “means of proof” will be required. These conditions are outlined in the ITT.
