The Wales Deanery’s Professional Support Unit (PSU) provides support for underperforming doctors and dentists in training and provide guidance and information to all parties involved in postgraduate medical and dental training. They meet with the trainees, discuss their concerns and help develop an action plan to improve the trainee’s well-being and performance. In more complex cases, the PSU will signpost those trainees requiring specific support required during their training programmes to an outsourced supplier of specialised support services.
This contract is therefore required to deliver a service to receive and process referrals from the PSU in relation to trainees who have suffered an accident/injury at work, suffered illness and absence from work, or are experiencing health related problems that could lead to illness/absence from work which was attributable to the working environment. The service will be required to provide, through formal arrangements, access to specialist support for physical/mental health from a qualified occupational health physician and/or clinical psychologist as required.

All tender costs and liabilities incurred by Bidders shall be the sole responsibility of Bidders.
The University reserves the right to annual the tendering process and not award any contract.

Living Wage:
1. Cardiff University as an employer, is committed to paying all employees not less than the Living Wage, as set annually by the Living Wage Foundation.
2. It is Cardiff University’s preference for the Contractor to pay all employees who are employed by the Contractor to perform services pursuant to this agreement not less than the Living Wage, as set annually by the Living Wage Foundation. Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: Cardiff University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. The notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to clarify or query the award decision before the contract is tendered into. The UK Public Contracts Regulations 2015 provide for aggrieved parties which have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
