Bournemouth Borough Council is currently looking to purchase the services of a company or individual that has extensive experience in creating, managing, programming, marketing and commercialising festivals and events that attract in excess of 100 000 people, effectively managing budgets in excess of GBP 750 000 for any 1 event.
The Bournemouth Wheels Festival, organised by Bournemouth Tourism, was introduced in 2014 and takes place over 3 days with the dates for 2015 being Friday 29th – 31st May. This event is free and in 2014 attracted approximately 500 000 visitors. It includes 3 days of high energy across the town and seafront from beautiful historic and classic cars to world class BMX stunts, monster truck parades, F1Cars, skateboard stunts and motorcycle displays. In addition there will be wheel themed entertainment such as live music as well as family entertainment throughout the seafront and gardens. There will be trading, exhibition and promotional sites along the seafront, East Overcliff and Town Centre.The successful supplier will take the lead role in the programme development and delivery as well as having significant input into the commercialisation of the Wheels Festival, branding and marketing in order to deliver the Wheels Festivals 2016 and 2017 which has been agreed in principal.
