Health services. Bedford Borough Council (BBC) & Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) are responsible for the provision of Public Health Services for their residents. This will be a joint procurement exercise led by BBC on behalf of BBC and CBC. They are seeking expressions of interest and tender submissions from suitably qualified and experienced providers who can meet all of the legal requirements of Local Authority contracts.
Key Objectives
Bedford Borough Council (BBC) and Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC), have been working to improve choice, quality, and value for money, of the sexual health services and are committed to significantly improving outcomes as well as ensuring that these improvements are sustainable.
We are looking to award to a single Provider that can work collaboratively with other providers in the Region, with a view to delivering Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Sexual Health Services and who can provide quality care of the highest degree to our residents. The successful provider will be required to provide an integrated service that is easily accessible to all our residents
Constraints
As the bidder community is aware, all public sector budgets are under the pressure of cuts and reductions in grants and support from Central Government. As such CBC and BBC have to deliver more services for a lower budget, and are looking to providers that can take advantage of streamlined and collaborative working as they will be a single point of contact and provider for levels 1 to 3 of sexual health services. . Accordingly, we are expecting providers to submit tenders that are below the 2 300 000 GBP p.a. (16 100 000 GBP over 7 years including extensions or 2 years) threshold budget we currently have for delivery of these services.
Contract
The start date for the contract is in November 2016 for a contract period of 5 years with the possibility of an extension of a further 2 years.
