Description of the contract

Watford Borough Council is seeking a contractor to provide and remove road markings and signs to the Council. The Council currently has this requirement for its Parking Enforcement, Car Parks, Parks and Leisure and Grounds Maintenance services. The Councils Parking Service delivers parking management and enforcement in the Borough under the terms of an agency agreement with the Highway Authority, Hertfordshire County Council. The signing and lining works will be predominantly but not exclusively in relation to works required by the Parking Service. In addition to the above as the Authority with powers to name and number street the Council is also seeking to procure the manufacture and installation of Street Name Plates to its specification. Our current parking enforcement contract also includes the provision of enforcement services in the neighbouring areas of Three Rivers District Council and Dacorum Borough Council. It is therefore the intension to make the contract available to the neighbouring authorities of Three Rivers District Council and Dacorum Borough Council. Jointly the three Councils cover south west Hertfordshire and have a population of 321,000 and with the largest and most significant town centre in Hertfordshire, Watford is at the centre of the contract area. Our neighbouring authorities may also wish to exercise their right to also issue works packages under this contract.
