Currently under the Coroners Act 1998 The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC) has agreed to provide the services of deceased patient transfers and collections within the HM Coroner District. This service is provided to the HM Coroner (Western) West Yorkshire. These deceased patients include sudden deaths at private residences, nursing homes, public and secluded spaces etc and additionally the transport of deceased patients from Hospital mortuaries within West Yorkshire that require post mortem at Public and Forensic Mortuary at Bierley Bradford.
The service will be operated by West Yorkshire Police under instruction from the HM Coroner. The contract will be managed by CBMDC.
CBMDC intends to procure this through a framework agreement.
