NHS Lothian (‘NHSL’) and The Edinburgh and Lothian Health Foundation (the ‘Foundation’) would like to jointly appoint an agent for the marketing and disposal of the assets comprising the current RHSC and ancillary office accommodation at 9 Sciennes Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1LF (the ‘Site’). NHSL and the Foundation are joint owners of the asset. NHSL and the Foundation will also work with the Scottish Futures Trust in respect of the disposal.

It is a requirement of this contract that bidders hold the levels of insurance indicated below:
Employer’s (Compulsory) Liability Insurance 5 000 000 GBP;
Professional Indemnity Insurance 5 000 000 GBP;
Public Liability Insurance 5 000 000 GBP.
III.1.3)Technical and professional ability
Experience in relation the following key areas should be identified:
— Advice on the marketing and disposal of sites of similar size and end uses as the subject sites;
— Experience and understanding of the Edinburgh and wider UK development markets;
— Experience and understanding of disposals within the context of the NHS Property Transactions Handbook;
— Understanding of the requirements and policy context for development of the site set by the relevant Planning Department, Highways Department and Historic Environment Scotland (HES);
— Experience of working with other local authority Planning, Highway Departments and HES in relation to the sale and marketing of major development sites;
— Experience of advising on-site disposals which include listed buildings for conversion/redevelopment and planning issues associated with sites containing listed buildings;
— At least 2 examples of where the key individual has delivered a timeous marketing and disposal process (including conclusion of the transaction) on behalf of clients;
— Examples of the marketing of high profile development sites which involve extensive community engagement and other stakeholder involvement.
