Description of the contract

Lancaster University is investing in its research and teaching through the building of an ERDF-funded centre. This involves considerable purchasing activity and the University is seeking a suitably experienced temporary Buyer on a consultancy basis who can work within our existing Procurement Team and support this programme. The Buyer will be expected to lead tender exercises for several pieces of scientific equipment and associated services. It is anticipated that the assignment will commence in early July for 3 months until the start of October. Timing to be advised by the funding body. Work is expected to be full time, but applications to work flexibly and from a suitable home office will be considered. There will be an expectation that at least 2 days per week will have to be onsite. The successful buyer must have significant hands on experience of purchasing goods and services under the EU Procurement Regulations and ideally, should understand the stringent standards required in purchasing using ERDF funds.
