Description of the contract
Background Our client is currently recruiting for a qualified senior PMO leader to develop the PMO function and provide leadership on internal programme control. This contract is initially for two months and if this initial period is successful then there is likely to be an extension. Main Duties/ Responsibilities 1. Provide leadership and management within the programme for provision of good quality PMO services. 2. Establish and maintain a PMO to support the Programme and all related projects. 3. Day to day management and supervision of the small PMO team and direct contribution to delivery of PMO products. 4. Oversight and management of PMO processes. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved 1. Undertake a quick analysis of existing PMO processes and identify key areas for immediate improvement – present findings to Programme Director. 2. Achieve a basic level of PMO service quickly. 3. Provide options to the Programme Director to establish medium/long term direction for PMO service provision, including resource/tool requirements. 4. Oversee/produce/maintain the following documentation: a) Risk and Issue register; b) Programme Director’s Update report to the PSN Programme Board; c) Decision log; d) Programme organogram; e) Workstream checkpoint reports; f) Workstream & programme dashboards; g) Dependence log; h) Document log; i) Benefits map; j) Benefits realisation plan; k) Benefits management strategy; l) Benefits realisation strategy; m) Programme change control process; n) Quality Management Plan; o) Programme Communications Plan; Skills/ Experience Required 1. Experience of working in a PMO in a large and complex environment. 2. Experience managing a PMO in a large and complex environment. 3. Public sector experience in a PMO context within the last (ideally) 6 years. Formal Qualifications Required Essential 1 PRINCE 2 Practitioner Highly Desirable 1. P3O Practitioner. 2. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner. 3. Management of Risk Practitioner.
