The remote monitoring, periodic maintenance and reactive repair of a new Perkins, 375 KW, natural gas fired, combined heat and power engine and its associated parts to achieve high levels of at least 95 percent availability. The maintenance contract will cover the first 32,000 hours of operation (equivalent to approximately 5 years of day time operation) with the engine operating for 17 hours per day, 365 days per week (except maintenance down time). The engine will generate electricity that will be sold to the National Grid and the resultant heat will serve a small number of south Hackney estates consisting of 462 homes and one community facility.
