Description of the contract
This is for the provision of Tobacco plain packaging consultation and review. In March 2011 the Government published Healthy Lives, Healthy People: A Tobacco Control Plan for England, which set out how our comprehensive, evidence-based programme of tobacco control will be delivered over the next five years. This included national ambitions to reduce rates of smoking among adults, young people and during pregnancy. As part of the comprehensive plan to achieve these ambitions, the Plan included the Government commitment to consult on standardised tobacco packaging. A consultation on standardised tobacco packaging has now been launched and will run until 10 August 2012.
