- This is Salford City’s Council notification of intent to create a Public Health Service Procurement Framework to support the future commissioning of services.
From April 2013, services and contracts for the provision of Public Health were transferred to the City Council, consistent with statutory and national requirements. Commissioning in Public Health had developed over a number of years with historical contracts covering a wide range of areas. The Public Health Service Procurement Framework will enable commissioners to re-procure existing and new services on a phased basis to support the continuity of services at minimal risk to the service users.
The Public Health Services Procurement Framework has been designed to reflect and support the redesign of services and therefore providers are encouraged to consider partnering and/or sub-contracting, to enhance the scope of the services they can deliver and consider their organisations ability to deliver generic services as a wellbeing provider.
Attached for information is an overview of Salford’s Public Health commissioning intentions over the next 2 years, although this is subject to change following the redesign of service and future funding. The framework may also be utilised by other Greater Manchester Authorities, who will be named within the tender documentation.
Expressions of interest at this stage would be for information only. It is anticipated that the tender will be advertised within the next two weeks.
