Description of the contract

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), Anthony Nolan and the Welsh Blood Service have a requirement for second field high resolution HLA typing to support haemopoietic stem cell transplantation through the UK AN and NHS Stem Cell Registry. The contractor must be able to deliver at least 25,000 second field (high) resolution HLA-A, B, C, DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, DRB5, DQB1 and HLA-DPB1 typings using sequencing approach that complies with EFI standards version 5.7. It is anticipated that the contract will commence in May 2013 and all HLA typing results must be reported by 28 February 2014. The contractor must hold current accreditation with EFI or ASHI for donor registry typing and for second field resolution HLA class I and class II typing and have a good track record in the provision of high volume HLA typing services. The deadline for receipt of expressions of interest is 12noon GMT on 23rd January 2013. To express an interest you will need to register your organisation on the NHSBT eSourcing portal (this is only required once) – Browse to the eSourcing Portal at https://nhsbt.bravosolution.co.uk Once you have registered, please take the following steps to gain access to all the relevant information and documentation. Click on ‘PQQ Open to all Suppliers’. Click on the contract you are interested in which will be entitled “Project_390: Second field high resolution HLA typing – Confidentiality Agreements”. Click on Express Interest (to the left hand side of the screen) and complete and return the signed confidentiality agreements. On receipt of the signed agreements you will be invited to proceed to the next stage of the Procurement which will require the completion of a full pre-qualification Questionnaire (PQQ). The deadline for completion of this PQQ is 12 Noon GMT on 24th January 2013.
