Description of the contract
The Research Councils Shared Service Centre Ltd (RCUK SSC Ltd) has developed a Grants Administration platform that is used by the seven UK Research Councils and the SSC to manage the c. £3bn of central government research funding distributed annually. The core technology of the platform is Oracle Siebel CRM v8.1.1 which has been significantly customised to meet the Research Councils requirements. Siebel integrates with the core ERP platform (Oracle Ebusiness), document management software (Oracle UCM) and a bespoke .Net front end for external access (Je-S) through an application middleware layer (Oracle FMW). Significant reporting requirements are met through Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) The current support team have adequate resource to meet long term requirements, however this does not provide flexibility to scale up to meet short-term needs nor does it provide full coverage of the wide range of technologies and they require a support contract in place to meet this requirement.
