Leicester City Council would like to bring about, from 2014 onwards, a reduction in the number of CCTV suppliers (equipment and maintenance) throughout the Authority and to enable the 2 current major CCTV Systems to be linked as one combined system. This will further enable a re-evaluation of the current City Centre Security monitoring contract (at Blackbird Rd) to be rewritten and retendered to cover both City Centre and Housing Stock / Tower Block CCTV monitoring.
The Council wants to ensure that in operating and developing these two systems over the next 3 to 5 years that they will be using latest technology for storage and control and that we can achieve an integration of the two systems such that each system can ideally operate each other’s cameras and view each other’s archives.
LCC would like advice on whether the integration of these two systems is possible.
Any queries relating to his exercise should be referred to Gary Nicholls, Team Leader CCTV & Network Communications at email@example.com .
