The Objectives for Discovery were: Understanding the landscape and to outline an Minimum Viable Product (MVP). They also included: 1. define an MVP that’s deliverable in 20 weeks, which provides the core of a digital Defence Solicitor distribution service. 2. define a roll-out strategy & timetable, which meets the requirements of the DSCC procurement process & renewal of Defence Solicitor contracts in 2015. 3. identify & engage partners to roll out the service, to collaborate on an alpha build. The single user issue which we’re addressing is to provide detainees with information on the Defence Solicitor’s availability. At the moment they’re asked if they wish a solicitor to attend. • A stand-alone, functional prototype, to meet Digital by Default requirements for Security, Privacy, Tools and Standards. • The requirement must meet the Alpha delivery requirements which have been defined here: http://serviceassessments.dsd.io/phases/alpha.html • Must be GOV compliant content & design for the service, as defined in https://www.gov.uk/service-manual Likely technologies: – calendar API/ web service development to connect external solictors’ calendars to the Duty Rota – LAA Oracle database integrations / API/ web service layer development for the Duty Rota – liaison with Capita DSCC to make minor software changes to the call centre tool that overlays the LAA Oracle database – integration with up to 8 3d party software products that are used in custody suites – web development to provide secure, authenticated, external access to & management of Duty Rota: Ruby &/or Python
