Description of the contract
This is a Prior Information Notice for the proposed procurement of a service to represent the views of, and involve people with a mental illness aged 16 years and above residing in Boroughs of Stafford, East Staffs, and Tamworth and the Districts of Cannock Chase, South Staffs and Lichfield. The service is about making sure that mental health commissioning, services, organisations and policies and practice are led and shaped by the people best placed to know what works: people who use mental health services. They are experts by experience. The provider must be able to demonstrate that they are independent of all other care, treatment and support provision for people with a mental illness in the aforementioned districts and boroughs. It is expected that the provider can demonstrate an existing and established network of eligible service users in order to deliver the following: Informing – ensuring people are aware and knowledgeable Consulting – people have the opportunity to influence Involve – active participation of a person with lived experience of mental illness Partner – Service users volunteering for the service, representing and acting on behalf of other service users Lead – Service users leading projects, programmes, workshops It is anticipated the value of the contract will not exceed £80,000 per annum.
