- The purpose of the contract is to provide the hire of vehicles which the council will use to operate a passenger transport service, which caters for the transport needs of service users across the borough of Oldham.
The service is primarily utilised by pupils with special educational needs. Currently the service transports approximately 500 pupils with special educational needs who are eligible for transport between home and school. Pupils are transported over 190 school days per year.
The contract will commence in January 2013 and will run for 2 years (with the provision to extend for a further 1 year period).
Where specified the contract will require the pick up and drop off of a Passenger Assistant.
