The Contractor will be required to implement detailed designs which have been developed by Sunderland City Council to deliver the full construction stage which may include but may not be limited to the execution of the following works:-.
— The re-alignment and construction of a 2 lane dual carriageway/boulevard, approximately 500m long, along the A183 Livingstone Road and St Mary’s Way,
— A new junction to provide access to the development site to the north,
— The creation of a high quality pedestrianised public open space to the south,
— Hard and soft landscaping,
— Demolition; and,
— Associated traffic management and utility works.
There may also be a requirement to manage interfaces with contractors on adjacent schemes which may be carried out in the same time window.
It is anticipated that the Form of Contract will be NEC3 Option C, this will be confirmed at the Invitation to Tender stage.

As part of the tender process Sunderland City Council intend to hold a PQQ clarification briefing on 5th September 2012 at Committee Room 6, Civic Centre, Burdon Road, Sunderland. SR2 7DN, arrive 2.15pm for a 2.30pm start. The aim of the briefing is to provide advice on submitting a compliant PQQ, there will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
