The University currently operates both voice and data networks which provide services to users at all sites.
The University’s voice and data network currently consists of the following elements: Campus Data Network, Wireless Network, Student Residences Network (ReSNet), Network Load Balancing, Security/Firewall and Telephony.
The University has two Data Centres, however some voice and data networking equipment is located in varying types of accommodation ranging from dedicated networking rooms to shared server environment and cabinets in office accommodation.
The University wishes to enter a comprehensive managed service agreement with a supplier to provide both maintenance services and technical expertise to support its entire voice and data network infrastructure. The University requires a high level of proactive managed service support. The overall objective of this agreement will be to deliver the highest overall level of support by utilising both University and Supplier skills and resources in the most appropriate and cost effective manner. The specific responsibilities for each element of the infrastructure will be agreed during contract set up with the preferred supplier.
