Information Technology Services (ITS) is the organisation responsible for providing IT support to students and staff at all UWE campuses. Following a major transformation programme to review and improve the provision and management of services to the business, ITS has identified the need for a new tool to support IT Service Management (ITSM), including asset management. Following a review of the extent to which ITIL best practices are currently followed, ITS has identified an opportunity for increased automation. Some processes are currently manual, or there is a variety of tools used by different teams within ITS. There is little or no integration between the different tools currently in use. A project is therefore in progress to evaluate candidate automated ITSM tools, and if a suitable tool is selected then to procure and implement it within UWE.
