VI.3)Additional information
1.1. Hambleton District Council is a rural Council in North Yorkshire. Its principal office is in Northallerton. The Council wishes to find a supplier(s) capable of providing:
— The supply of municipal vehicles (Lot 1); or
— The maintenance of municipal vehicles (Lot 2); or
— The supply and maintenance of municipal vehicles (Lot 3).
1.2. The Council owns, controls and manages a range of municipal vehicles. A list of the current fleet is attached at Appendix A. It should be noted, however, that immediately prior to the issuing of contract documents, the Council is undertaking a review of its waste services: and it is possible that the type of vehicles that will be used for the collection of recyclables will be different to current.
Additionally, the Council owns a workshop facility at its depot: and will make this depot, including the provision of utilities but excluding the provision of equipment, available for the maintenance of vehicles (Lot 2 and Lot 3).
1.3. The Council wishes to enter into contract(s) for the provision of services to either supply municipal vehicles (Lot 1); or maintain municipal vehicles (Lot 2); or supply and maintain municipal vehicles (Lot 3).

1.5 The procurement will be by Competitive Dialogue and one of the considerations will be the precise contract period. At this stage it is envisaged that the resulting contract(s) will run for an initial period of seven (7) to ten (10) years. At the discretion of the Council and upon satisfactory performance the contract may be extended for a further period up to a maximum of a further seven (7) to ten (10) years. The maximum length of the contract shall be twenty (20) years.
1.6 The anticipated contract start date is June 2015 subject to procurement time-scales and exchange of contracts.
1.7 Further detail of the contract will be provided in the Invitation to Tender document for those suppliers who are successful at Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) stage.
